“I think everyone needs to stop” | Actress Lindsay Lohan defends disgraced Weinstein

31-year old actress, Lindsay Lohan has defended disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein in the face of multiple sexual harassment allegations, calling for people to cut him some slack.

Lohan expressed her empathy for Weinstein, claiming he has never acted inappropriately towards her, and thereby encouraged his wife Georgina Chapman to support him.

In a video which has since been deleted from her account, Lohan stated her concerns on her Instagram story, she said, “I feel very bad for HW right now I don’t think it’s right what’s going on. I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband”.

“He’s never wronged me or done anything to me and we’ve done several movies together. I think everyone needs to stop. It’s wrong, so stand up.”

Lohan’s comments came shortly before Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman revealed she is leaving him after being married for 10 years.

Chapman, a fashion designer who bore two kids for Weinstein said in a statement, “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time”.

Many actresses including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have accused the producer of illicit advances since the allegations popped up last week.

Weinstein who has since been sacked by his own production company, denies the accusations, but, has flown to Europe to undergo sex therapy.
