“I will resign as adviser if Jonathan refuses to run for re-election” – Gulak

The special adviser to President Jonathan on political affairs, Ahmed Gulak, has said that he will resign his appointment if President Goodluck Jonathan refuses to run for reelection in the next elections because to him, there is simply no alternative to Jonathan in 2015.

He said this at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Unity Rally for President Jonathan which took place in Owerri, Imo state on Sunday.

According to Gulak, the only person who has the ability to strengthen democratic institutions and entrench the rule of law in the country was Goodluck Jonathan.

Addressing the crowd which thronged the Rosy Arts Centre venue of the rally, Gulak highlighted the achievements of the Jonathan administration.

Also speaking at the occassion, the chairman of the Unity Rally, Chief Donatus Nwoga expressed satisfaction with the performance of the president but regretted that the ruling party was fast losing grounds in the state. He said that the PDP national and state exco must to rise to the challenge of re-capturing the state.

Others present at the event were Senator Abubukar Gada, General lbrahim Sabo, Dr Eddy Olafeso, Hon. Ned Nwoke, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdullahi and Engr. Kunle Yusuf.
