The Inspector General, Suleiman Abba, has returned the security aides attached to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

Shortly after the defection of Tambuwal to the APC in 2014, Abba had ordered the immediate withdrawal of the police personnel attached to the Speaker.

But now, for some reason, they are back!

No reason was given for the reinstatement of the security men by Abba, who had insisted that he ceased to recognise Tambuwal as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as soon as her defected to the All Progressives Congress on October 30, 2014.

The policemen were sighted in Tambuwal’s residence and office on Wednesday, March 11, but none was willing to speak on why they were asked to return to the APC Governorship candidate for Sokoto State.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser on Media to Tambuwal, Imam Iman, said that all the security men earlier withdrawn on the orders of the Abba had been returned to his boss.

“It is true that all the police officers and men attached to the Speaker are back at their duty post,” Imam said.
