“Ijebu Garri” gets a media makeover! Five small businesses get help

by Daniel Ajayi

Five small businesses will receive free media makeover form the Kirke Project, a new media make-over project for Start-Ups as well as Small and Medium scale enterprises (SMEs). According to a press statement from the organizers of the initiative, the “selected small businesses have been given a reprieve on ways to build and maintain their online presence as well as how to engage their current and potential customers through social media”.

“We realised that we could add some extra boost to some small businesses by giving them access to web 2.0 tools to maximize visibility at the early stage of their business’ growth,” the Project Manager, Kayode Nubi, said.

The businesses selected for this pilot phase of The Kirke Project are Bellurie, Garri Ijebu, Platnum Clothing, 15th Avenue, E-Magic Cleaners and Courage Designs and Events.

The Kirke Project is a not-for-profit outreach organised by a team of new media enthusiasts and aided by the digital marketing expertise of Simon & Noble,  a New Media Company, with brand and media advisory from RED.  External observers for the project include UN Ambassador for ICT4D & Executive Director at Paradigm Initiative Nigeria, Gbenga Sesan as well as Jesse Oguntimehin, who was brought on as a performance tracking consultant.
