David Furnish, producer and husband to British pop legend, Elton John has apologized to queen of pop, Madonna for his ungracious outburst after she won the Golden Globe award for best original song.
Madonna and Elton were both nominated in the same category and after the pop queen, (Madonna that is) was announced winner for the song, ‘Masterpiece’ from her upcoming film, ’W.E’ ahead of Elton’s ‘Hello hello’ from the movie, ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’, the camera caught John’s chilly reaction.
Furnish then took to his Facebook account to express his feelings, ‘’Madonna, Best song????F- off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism.’’
He also slammed the material mom for her recent criticism of Lady Gaga, who is godmother to the same-sex couple’s only child, accusing her of ‘’being desperate for attention.’’
However, Furnish seems to have realized the error of his ways and posted another statement: ‘’My comments regarding the Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion. My passion for our film and belief in Elton’s song really got my emotional juices going.’’
He continued, ‘’But I must say for the record that I do believe Madonna is a great artiste and that Elton and I wish her all the best for next week’s premiere of the film ‘W.E’. ’
Meanwhile, Madonna has maintained an upbeat mien, the whole saying, ‘’He (Elton‘s) been known to get mad at me so I don’t know. He’s brilliant and I adore him so he’ll win another award. I don’t feel bad!’’
