A house keeper at the US Military Academy at West Point may end up in prison for two years for stealing a bag of meatballs.  The employee, who works for the food service company serving the institution, is finding that the military is very serious about any form of crime,, no matter how small.

Estelle Casimir, a 56-year old woman, has been with the company for 28 years and was seen with a bag in a section where she doesn’t work. She was approached by superiors, who asked her what she was doing. To that question, she simply replied that she was throwing the bag away. But the problem is that she was not responsible for working with food at all, leading her supervisors to be suspicious.

The woman has now been suspended and is looking for work.

“I just sit in the house. … I don’t have anything to do,” she says.

She has been charged with two counts of stealing property and possessing stolen property, facing up to a year in jail on each count.  This is the same amount of time given to Trent Mays, one of the teens sentence for raping a young girl in Steubenville, Ohio.
