Uzor Orji Kalu was released from the Kuje Correctional Centre on the 2nd of June after spending Five (5) months. He was convicted by the federal high court in Lagos for money laundering to the tune of N7.1 billion.
The conviction of Kalu and Udeogu was nullified on the 8th of May by the Supreme Court on the grounds that Mohammed Idris, the trial judge, did not have the jurisdiction to hear the matter since he had been elevated to the court of appeal.
Based on that, Orji Kalu said he will be dedicating his time henceforth to ensuring there will be justice for all Nigerians.
