The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stated that visually impaired candidates will not be excluded from the Computer Based Test in the forthcoming Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
In a statement on Thursday, The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. ‘Dibu Ojerinde, represented by the Director of Test Administration, Dr. Yusuf Lawal, said this while receiving a delegation from the Anglo-Nigeria Welfare Association for the Blind.
He said, “JAMB is proactive and would ensure that our visually impaired candidates are kept abreast of contemporary issues and challenges. We are not saying that there will be no issues, but as a responsive agency, we are committed to ensuring that no candidate is disadvantaged”.
He also noted that the 2015 UTME would begin on Monday, March 9, adding that the board would not deny any candidate their rights due to disability.
