Electro-fying: Jamie Foxx makes his grand entrance as the villain in a new Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer
And it seems Jamie brings some of his trademark cockiness to his portrayal of the role.
Despite the fact he is stuck in some kind of restraining machine, though it could also be a device for charging his powers, he seems confident it will not be able to hold him forever.
He tells a mysterious off-screen character: ‘I feel it in my veins. No matter what you do doc, you can’t contain it.
Nuts and bolts : It is unclear if the machine is a restraining device or a way to charge his powers
Charging the human capacitor: The villain warns there is no limit to his power as he chats to an off-screen character
The bald facts: His character is based on the Ultimate universe version rather than the popular original
‘You wanna know how powerful I am? Well I would love to. I’m Electro.’
He looks far removed from the delightfully larger-than-life villain whose schemes would always end in disaster at the hands of Spider-Man in the original comic books.
Maxwell Dillon, an electrical engineer and lineman, was repairing a power line, a freak lightning accident caused a mutagenic change that transformed him into a living electrical capacitor, and he later decides to take advantage of this and become Electro.
However Jamie’s version of the character is based on the Ultimate universe version, whose powers are a product of bioengineering, has a bald head and grotesque burn scars.
Watt is he doing: Many will be wondering if he will find a way to escape and wreak havok
Big plug: The movie’s release date is detailed at the very end of the teaser trailer
Original and best: Many will be extremely shocked the larger than life classic Electro will not feature
