Ladies First! Kanye West debuts women's line

by Yemi Olowu

One would have thought if the uber stylish hip hop star, Kanye West was ever going to have a fashion line, he would start with menswear, but Mr West showed how much of a gentleman he is by debuting his first collection, DW, named after his late mom Donde West on Saturday, October 1.

He made Paris the city of choice to showcase his spring 2012 collection.  The ladies are lucky right? Kanye got help from Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, and the shoes were designed by Giuseppe Zanotti. The collection featured bandage inspired pieces, furs and leathers which in my own opinion has a more fall/winter approach for a spring collection.

F.Row darlings who attended the event included the Olsen Twins who also have their own fashion line, music star and dance aficionado, Ciara, U.S Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, god-in-mortal and former French Vogue editor, Carine Roitfield, Lindsey Lohan, Jared Leto and designers like Sylvia Fendi, Alexander Wang, Jeremy Scott,  and the Dsquared twins. Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn were part of the notable models who walked the show.
