Lagos are you ready? Nigerian Idols is coming to town

Lagos, brace yourselves as front running  music reality show, Nigerian Idol Season II, audition train hits Lagos for a three day musical extravaganza. From Friday November 4 to Sunday November 6 the Dream Studios, Lagos will be playing host to the thousands of Idol hopefuls who have already registered to be part of the forthcoming auditions. The Lagos audition comes after a month long audition tour of four cities starting from Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu and finally berthing in Lagos.

From musical groups in the National Theatre to Cool underground music gatherings like Taruwa and One Mic Naija, the Nigerian Idol auditions is generating buzz and excitement among music talents. According to Ese Okoduwa who trains weekly at the National theatre, “I was very excited to hear that the Lagos auditions will be holding this coming weekend. This looks like the opportunity I have been waiting and preparing for all my life.”

To the organisers of the show, the last Lagos auditions was a spectacular show with the excited contestants giving it a carnival feel with their impromptu rehearsals. “Judging by the popularity of the show last season and the excitement and energy shown by the participants, we expect an even greater audition this time around now the stakes have been made higher,” said Nigerian Idol Executive Producer, Rotimi Pedro.

Lead sponsors of Nigerian Idol Season II, Etisalat are also excited about the upcoming auditions in Lagos. “Etisalat is proud to be associated with Nigerian Idol. As lead sponsors, we are even more impressed at the turnout of youths who have come out in throngs to audition for a chance to ignite their dream on the Idols stage,” said Olufemi Ashipa, Sponsorship and Marketing Manager, Etisalat Nigeria.

The Idol franchise is the world’s biggest musical platform that cuts across all continents, from the Americas to Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It is responsible for the revelation of some of the world’s biggest music stars like Jennifer Hudson, Ruben Stoddard, Carrie Underwood and more recently Nigeria’s own Yeka Onka.

2. Confirm your Audition location, by sending an SMS from your Etisalat line with your FULL NAME & PREFERRED AUDITION CITY to 5599.

3. Show up at the audition venue with the ETISALAT SMS confirmation, a printed copy of your application form and 2 passport photos.

Contestants who did not make it in one venue can find  their way to the Lagos auditions for another chance at becoming the next Nigerian Idol
