A Lagos hospital, First Consultants, Obalende has denied reports that the first case of Ebola virus has been recorded there today, 24 July.

A report which alleged that a Liberian has been admitted into the hospital, had been going round Blackberry messenger all day.

When YNaija reached out to First Consultants hospital, a female representative who refused to disclose her identity vehemently denied the reports.

“It is not true. I don’t know of any Ebola case here,” she said.

When we insisted that she find out from the relevant party if truly there were such a case or otherwise, she suddenly ended the call.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that a 40-year-old Liberian man is being tested for Ebola virus in Lagos, by the Lagos State Health Ministry.

Fears about the Ebola virus getting into Nigeria has risen in recent time, especially with its presence in several neighbouring West African countries.
