Frank Lampard has warned his former club Chelsea, that the title race is very much on.
The midfielder, who is the Blues’ record goalscorer scored the equalizer when both sides met in September, but was not able to find the back of the net in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
The result means that Manchester City are still five points behind leaders Chelsea with 15 matches left, but Lampard insists there is all to fight for.
“You lose and it’s eight points difference and the league will become a bit more clear,” Lampard told mcfc.com.
“Now it’s very much lots of points to play for and it’s on. It’s important to keep focused.
“The draw keeps the league bubbling. Chelsea are obviously the favourites as they’re five points ahead.
“It doesn’t change anything and Chelsea will be happy with that but we can’t be too upset.”
Lampard was released by the Blues last summer and joined City, ahead of a move to New York City FC.
