If you haven’t come across the man in this video before now, let us introduce him to you. He is Hon. Mohammed Kazaure Gudaji, representing the Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi Federal Constituency of Jigawa State in Nigeria’s House of Representatives. Elected by members of his constituency to make laws for the peace, order and good governance of the federation, according to the Nigerian constitution.

This is not the first viral video where Hon Gudaji chatters on and on about nothing, and the videos are quite popular because they are supposed to be amusing. Well, it’s interesting that a number of us find this Nigerian lawmaker spewing absolute trash funny. And this is not about his Northern Nigerian accent because we love the authenticity and the flow of the words.

This is about the things he said! Did you hear him say “natural fertilizer from the sky?” Well, he meant rainfall. But that’s not too serious…

He went ahead to say that “Baba” told us in his independence speech that this “recession will not last and whatever Baba says is right”. So let’s ask what happened to his own assessment of the situation. We won’t like to push things too far by requesting that he proffers a probable solution, just an original opinion, that’s all.

Then, Hon Gudaji attributes the current state of the economy to the “blinking and shaking” of the National Assembly. NASS blinks and shakes? Wow! Then the interviewer interjects that the National Assembly is “swimming” and Honourable latches on to the word with so much excitement.

If this video doesn’t make you sick to the stomach, then there’s a problem. It’s sad that the fate of our country lies in the hands of people like Hon Gudaji and we’re laughing so hard about it. We all need to do right in coming elections by making better voting choices. This one man is a shame on the rest of the House (all of this will only be pardonable if he puts up this show just for the cameras, but we doubt that’s the case).
