Let’s wow you! Y! Red Carpet launches at The Future Awards this Sunday!

by Sola Fasasi

Preparations for Season 6 of The Future Awards which will hold on Sunday, 30 January, 2011 are in high gear. The team is pushing all the boundaries and we promise that this year’s edition will be bigger and better than ever!

We are very pleased to announce that at this year’s event, our sister brand and the new high priest of youth culture, Y! will launch a  first – we call it the Y! Red Carpet! Following in the tradition of the popular E! Red Carpet, the Y! Red Carpet will chronicle fashion and style,  featuring exclusive interviews as well as an exciting focus on the Style Vibe and Fashion Police.

The maiden edition of Y! Red Carpet will be hosted by a young and talented group – Makida Moka (Face of Sleek 2010), Ifeanyi Dike (Nigerian Idol), Bubu Ogisi and Adebayo Oke-Lawal (Designers, Onyx & Pearl). With each host bringing their unique, colorful personality to the show, the launch edition is set to be nothing short of an absolute delight.

The Y! Red Carpet has two sections: one is the online section, with first-of-its-kind live uploads and updates from the Red Carpet on YNaija.com, and the other is the TV show.

The show will also be streamed LIVE on the internet – www.yrn.me/tfa2011 courtesy of our technology Partners, Paradigm Initiative Nigeria.

It gets better! Other supporting Red Carpet content will include Twit Pics, Mobile Videos, Interactive Content from Celebrities, the whole works!

And just in case you miss the live show, an edited version will be broadcast shortly after the award.

“The Y! Red Carpet is the very first of its kind in the country and we are very proud to launch this show,” says Yemi Olowu, Assistant Style Editor of Y!
