In another child-rape case, Daniel Edet, a 36-year-old man has been accused of molesting his 11-year-old stepdaughter.
He was arraigned on Wednesday, 27 August, before a Lagos Chief Magistrate court at Ebute Metta on a one-count charge.
Deputy Superintendent, Etim Nkankum, the police prosecutor told the court that the suspect defiled his stepdaughter at his house in Ijegun, Lagos, on 9 August at about 4.30 pm.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Meanwhile, Magistrate E.B. Daodu granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one responsible surety.
The case has been adjourned till 22 October.
