A middle aged man, identified as Ben Ariwelo  was arrested by the police for allegedly defiling an 8 year old girl in Otueke, Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that the under aged girl said to be an imbecile was lured to a public toilet where the suspect committed the crime.

His luck ran out when a neighbour who noticed the unusual movement around the public toilet raised an alarm and drew the attention of other natives to the scene. When they arrived the scene, the man was caught pant down by the community folks and handed to the police.

The state police commissioner, Mr. Kingsley Omire confirmed the incident adding that the suspect would be charged to court.

He said, “yes one Ben Ariwelo, an adult was arrested for defiling an imbecile girl of 8 years in a public toilet at Otuoke community in Ogbia local government Area.”
