The Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo, has admitted that it is the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), that will ultimately decide if Stephen Keshi gets a new deal or not.

The ‘Big Boss’ contract ran out after the 2014 World Cup, when he led the Super Eagles to the last 16, before they were eliminated by France.

“My own role (as regards Keshi’s contract) will be advisory. It will be the NFF and the technical committee who will decide on Keshi,” Danagogo said on a radio programme monitored in Abuja on Thursday.

According to reports, Keshi is demanding for double his current wages to continue as Nigeria coach, with the African champions set to begin their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.

The 52-year-old who has been linked with the vacant managerial post of South Africa, also wants his salaries paid upfront to avoid delays.
