Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has denied being behind the campaign posters in certain parts of Lagos presenting him as running for governorship of the state in 2015.
The former Nigeria’s high commissioner to Ghana described the posters as fake saying the action is “cheap and miscalculated”.
He reportedly said the fake posters were intended to either to “present him as desperate or a politician of uncompromising tendencies.”
He noted that the intentions of those who pasted the posters have failed because they could neither push him out in the ring nor stifle him.
According to him, “Honestly, this has not come to me as a surprise because I understand the terrain in which I operate. But I would have thought that even if those who relish in destructive politics still admire the trade, they could have at least, gone a notch up in their game.”
