N2.2bn fraud: Supreme Court registrar’s trial stalled again

The trial of the chief registrar of the Supreme Court, Ahmed Saleh was on Thursday adjourned for the second time due to the absence of the third defendant, Rilwanu lawal.

Saleh and two others – Mohammed Sheriff and Lawal were arraigned for allegedly diverting N2.2 billion belonging to the Supreme Court.

They were also accused of receiving N74.4 million bribe from Supreme Court contractors.

Iloh Sanusi, counsel to the third defendant said his client has gone to attend to his dying mother.

Sanusi said his client travelled to be with his ill mother in Gusau, Zamfara

The presiding judge adjourned the trial till February 7, 2017.
