So, in a tennis match yesterday, Australia’s 2nd seed player and 41 in the world rankings, Nick Kyrgios beat his Swiss opponent, Stan Wawrinka (4th seed in the world rankings) in the second-round clash at the Montreal Masters but that’s not the news here; the real news is how he won the game.
During the game, Kyrgios employed the old age tactic of trash talking to gain an edge over his opponent. I mean, if it could work for Richard Sherman, there’s no reason why it can’t work for Nick Kyrgios and what better way to win a tennis match than by showing NO LOVE.
During the game, Kyrgios told fourth-seeded Stan Wawrinka that teenage Australian player, Thanasi Kokkinakis, 19, slept with his girlfriend. “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend,” he said, midway through the second set. “Sorry to tell you that, mate”. Advantage. Game set. Match. No deuce!
What’s Wawrinka’s comeback? Well, the reigning Australian and French Open champion, hit back in a Twitter rant later on.
Is this going to be the new trend for tennis? I certainly hope so…
FYI: Kyrgios, 20, was referring to 19-year-old Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic. Vekic has been romantically involved with Wawrinka, who divorced his wife, Ilham, earlier this year.
Another FYI: Wawrinka is 30. There’re plenty words for people like that where I come from, agbaya is one of them.
