Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps arrests man with 36 cartons of hard drugs in Jigawa

A 30-year old man has been arrested in Jigawa State by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for being in possession of 36 cartons containing hard drugs.

The Commandant of NSCDC in Jigawa, Muhammad Gidado,  spoke to newsmen about the incident in Dutse, the state capital.

According to him, the suspect was arrested in Taura Local Government Area of the state.

Leadership reports:

Gidado said the suspect was arrested on Sunday in Gujungu town around 12:30 a.m.by men of the command operating in the area.

He said that the suspect was arrested with 17 cartons of Tramol tablets (200mgs),10 cartons of Diazepam tablets (10mgs) and 9 cartons of Exol tablets (100mgs).

The commandant said the suspect was arrested while attempting to distribute the drugs to his agents in the area.

According to him, the suspect is believed to be one of the major hard drug dealers in the state.

Gidado said the suspect would be handed over to NDLEA for further action, and advised youth in the state to shun drug abuse and other vices.
