Saudi authorities have again beheaded a Syrian man convicted of smuggling drugs into the country, the ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
He was beaheded on Tuesday and becomes the 76th person to face this chilling fate in the ultra-conservative kingdom.
Syrian national Hasan Mahmud al-Bash was executed in the northern province of Jawf.
The PMNews reports:
Bash was arrested while attempting to traffic “a large amount of narcotic capsules,” the ministry added.
His beheading brings to 76 the number of executions carried out in Saudi Arabia this year, according to an AFP count.
In 2012, the country carried out 76 executions, according to a tally based on official figures.
