Nura Rimi, Presidential Liaison Officer of President Muhammadu Buhari has been sacked, reports say.

Rimi served as President Goodluck Jonathan’s Chief Protocol Officer and was posted to Nigeria Embassy in Abu Dhabi before the presidential election, only to be recalled and appointed PLO by President Buhari.

The termination of Rimi, who was appointed before the presidential inauguration, has not yet been announced officially by the President’s spokespersons.

However, Vanguard reports that his disengagement as Buhari’s PLO took place last week.

But according to Sahara Reporters, Rimi was simply assigned to a senior diplomatic post in the United Arab Emirates.

SR obtained a letter of the re-assignment, which was signed by the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari.

The letter stated that Rimi had been “temporarily deployed from the Office of Protocol to the office of then President as ‘Presidential Liaison Officer’ to facilitate contacts with the office of the outgone President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan during the transition period.”
