More often than not, people tend to get consumed by everyday hustle and unintentionally forget that they are needed. Needed by the downtrodden. Needed by the unfortunate. Needed by those who have had it rough all their lives; Those with no hope of a better tomorrow.

This is where Braite Lite’s #ProjectDDD comes in…

Birthed in 2012 by a group of 13 friends. Project DDD (Donation Drive 4 December) is an initiative aimed at giving back to the less privileged in the society, through various charity projects.

All over the world, December is regarded as the time to count wins and loses, spend time with loved ones as we look ahead to a better New Year… BUT… many underprivileged folks do not have such imaginations. They are just too busy searching for the next meal.

Our plan at Braite Lites (a 3 in 1 media, events and ideas company) is to make Christmas special for these people and we have started doing just that in some communities in Lagos.

In 2012, we successfully reached out to two orphanages and a home for the elderly. Food items, clothes, shoes and household materials as received from donors were distributed to those in need.

Last year, 2013, we focused on underprivileged residents in Ajegunle- a suburb of Lagos state. We are glad to have been able to put smiles on the faces of over 1000 people, mostly women and children. All this was made possible by the support of well meaning, kind heated and generous Nigerians, home and abroad.

This year ****DRUM ROLL**** we are glad to announce that the #ProjectDDD charity initiative is switching gears and changing tactics!!!

We realise that it is far more impactful to TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO FISH than KEEP GIVING IT TO THEM ONCE A YEAR…

Hence, we are glad to announce that in 2014, Braite Lites would give two families a makeover, inside and out! Our plan is to change their lives, in our own little way.

First, we give them a special Christmas treat. Stock their house with food, make their home more comfortable by providing home essentials and then …. empower the members of each family with skills, to help them on the path to financial freedom.
