#OndoDecides: Voting underway in Ondo State governorship election

The elections in Ondo State is going on smoothly with reports of violence in isolated places. The three gubernatorial candidates in the election, the incumbent, Olusegun Mimiko, Rotimi Akeredolu, and Olusola Oke have been accredited and waiting to cast their votes in their respective polling units.

Security personnel are on standby in all corners of the state to nip any violence in the bud. The military, police, and other security agencies have stated their intention to deal with anyone who plans to disrupte the peace during the election.

Voters are waiting patiently under the sun but they seem determined to exercise their franchise.

The election promises to be keenly contested with the three main candidates boasting of victory in the elections.

Below are some of the updates coming out of the elections, we shall continue to bring you updates from our correspondents on ground.

10:30am – In Ita Ogbolu, all security persons there are females but the people are orderly.

10:30am – Ward5, unit 5, Gbaja, Ifon. There are international observers.
The turnout  has been massive.

10:33am – There is complain because the low paste of accreditation in Iju area, Ata Ogbolu. The people are getting impatient.

10:41am – In Abule Shoro. Accreditation had ended because only few people registered n the people are waiting for the voting process.

11:00am – The military personnel are arresting farmers going to farms and
making them sit on the floor on Owo express way. Their motorcycles are also being confiscated.

11:00am – At 11am, INEC officials have not arrived at ward 3, unit 6 in Ise Odo.

11:10am – Ward 6 Unit 11 Ese-Odo, accreditation has not started due to the unavailability of INEC officials.

Accreditation has ended in some units in Ibule with people waiting to vote.

– At exactly 12.00pm, the Federal University of Technology, Akure polling
station is peaceful with accreditation concluded. Poeple are
out en mass to vote.

However the National Task Force is present to ensure fair indulgence
of voters as well as voters for credible election on supervision.

– 12:05pm The voters are patient and orderly despite the high mid-day sun.

– Foreign observers arrived FUTA polling station  at 12:13pm.

According to the INEC officials announced that all voters should be on a single file to be counted before the commencement of voting exercise. There are 367 accredited voters.
