Panic in Edo over ‘headless body’

Residents of Auchi community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, were on Tuesday, thrown into panic after they found the headless body of man in front of Campus Two of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi.

According to Punch, the body was eventually identified as ‘Clement’.

It was thereafter determined that he was a commercial motorcycle driver as his severed head was sighted a little distance away from his motorcycle on the same road.

The cause of Clement’s death is unknown although sources gave conflicting information on the cause of death, with many saying that it was a ritual killing and others positing that Clement was crushed to death by a heavy duty truck.

Speaking on the development, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Moses Bature, confirmed the shocking incident, noting that the corpse has been deposited in a mortuary.

Bature said, “It is hit-and-run. We did not see the driver. We only carried the body to a mortuary.”
