A pastor, Wale Fagbere who was transfixed while allegedly trying to destroy a shrine will be charged to court, the Ogun State Police Command has said.

The police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi on Monday said the pastor will be charged for malicious damage.

“What he did was wrong and so he must be charged to court. If it was the other way round too, they will also be charged to court.

“Everyone has a right to worship whatever deity one chooses without fear or favour,” he said.

Fagbere had tried to destroy a shrine in the Ketu area of the state after telling his congregation that he had a revelation to destroy all shrines in the area.

He was however transfixed upon entering the shrine and only regained consciousness after some rituals were allegedly made.
