Seventeen groups who support the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Thursday in Kaduna said they would organise a one million-man march in solidarity with the Sen. Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the party.

Under the aegis of PDP National Integrity Group, and PDP National Solidarity, the groups described Ali Modu Sheriff as a stooge being used by the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC to destroy the opposition party.

The groups’ Chairman, Hon. Rilwanu Abdulahi, who is a former Chairman of Kaduna North Local Government Area, LGA, said groups from the six geo-political zones have agreed to the march.

He said: “A joint meeting of our groups from all the six geo-political zones at a meeting and discussed and reviewed some socio-political issues in the country, especially issues that are of real and significant interest concern our great party, the PDP.

“The meeting also reflected on the recent press conference addressed by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s group which drew the anger of our groups and the entire membership of the party.

“We distance ourselves, our groups and most members of our party from the antics of this dissident group.

“We are therefore, planning a one million-man march soon, to show the popularity of Senator Ahmed Makarfi in the PDP and to force Sheriff to stop his pranks. We shall avail you details later.”
