Several members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Michika local government area of Adamawa State, yesterday protested what they claimed to be an imposition of party chairman for the area on them.

This was stated in a protest letter delivered by the spokesman of the group, Sabo Garta, at the state perty secretariat in Yola.

According to him, the nomination and swearing-in of Ezekiel Zira as the party chairman of Michika local government area by the party leadership was unacceptable to them.

Leadership report:

He said that members of the party in Michika had a consensus to nominate Daniel Tumba as their chairman after three other contestants for the position stepped down for him.

“As far as we know, Daniel Tumba has the full mandate and full support of the people of Michika and should be sworn in as the authentic party chairman in Michika local government area.

“We vehemently declare the fictitious swearing in of Ezekiel Zira as party chairman of Michika local government null and void or just an empty threat,” Garta said.
