Conspiracy theories, pertinent questions about rescue of Chibok girl (READ)

On Wednesday, May 18, a girl believed to be one of the kidnapped Chibok girls was found loitering in the woods with a Boko Haram insurgent and a 15-month-old baby, by men of the Civilian Joint Task Force near Sambisa Forest.

Thereafter, several versions of the story of how Amina Alli was found, surfaced on the internet.

While the Nigerian Army swiftly claimed credit for her supposed ‘rescue’, some other reports inferred that the Civilian Joint Task Force was responsible for her freedom.

Also, the name of the rescued Chibok girl was for some time, intensely debated, until every one eventually got on the same page.

Bearing on the whole saga and media circus surrounding the news of Amina’s freedom, some skeptical souls took to Twitter to register their skepticism and suspicion.
