New Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola has dismissed the possibility of luring Lionel Messi from Barcelona during his tenure.
Guardiola made this known at his unveiling at a fans’ event on Sunday, where he also held a Q&A session with supporters.
The former Barcelona coach was asked by a fan if he had any plans of bringing Lionel Messi to the club.
In response to this, Guardiola said, “He is not a bad player, this guy! But I’m sorry Messi has to stay in Barcelona for the rest of his career.”
The Argentine who just retired from international football was speculated to be interested in joining his former manager at the Etihad but Guardiola has shut down these rumours with this recent revelation.
