President Goodluck Jonathan is pictured above in Sokoto commissioning the first Model Almajiri Boarding School in Gagi village, Sokoto-south Local Government Area, of Sokoto state.

A number of schools in the Northern part of the country have recently been burned down in attacks by the Boko Haram sect, but the President has apparently found the perfect remedy to that; simply build new ones!

The President described the commissioning as  “truly historic” saying: “This is the first modern boarding school entirely dedicated to the Almajiri.”

“Almajiri” is a term used to refer to homeless child beggars.
