Emir of Kano, Sanusi II, rides through the streets of Kano on horseback (PHOTOS)

The Kano Emirate held its annual Durbar festival on Wednesday.

The Durbar festival is an event celebrated alongside the Eid al-Fitr. As part of the festivities, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and his entourage parade through the streets of the ancient city on horse, with musicians accompanying them.
