The Ogun state Police Command on Saturday arrested two suspected ritualists with human bones.
One of the suspects Wole Oke, 38, was arrested with a bag containing humans. He was arrested alongside Wasiu Adesina, 30, by a team of police operatives attached to the Oke Itoku Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, CSP Abeni Farinre.
The state Police spokesperson, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident said Oke confessed to the crime.
The statement read, “On searching the bag with them, it was discovered that it contained human bones.
“Upon interrogation, one of the suspects, Wole Oke, confessed that they were the bones of his sister who died four years ago.
“He further stated that one herbalist sent him to go and bring it for money ritual purpose.
“The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for further investigation.
“He also directed that the herbalist mentioned be arrested without further delay,” the statement added.
