Boko Haram: FG still open to dialogue with Boko Haram – Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed says the Federal Government has not foreclosed negotiations with terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Mohammed made the disclosure at a live programme on Channel Television titled “Nigeria at 56: Recursive, Resilient, Rising.”

He said critics of the government were not being fair as the Chibok girls situation should not be used as a yardstick to write off its achievement on the war on terrorism.

Mohammed said the terrorists no longer held any territory in Nigeria as they have been decimated by the military.

“The North-East is free now, students are returning to schools, all the towns and communities hitherto under the control of the terrorists have been liberated and those who fled their homes are gradually returning,” he said.

He appreciated the efforts of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group saying the FG is as concerned as they are about the return of the girls.
