The Ondo state police command on Wednesday paraded suspected kidnappers who, according to security agents, have been terrorising Akure, the state capital, and its environs.

Patrick Dukumor, the state police commissioner said two of the paraded suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction of Olubunmi Oke, a Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) reporter in Akure.

According to the Police Commissioner, one of Oke’s abductors, Michael Onaibre, was arrested with a BlackBerry smart phone belonging to their victim, while a younger brother of the leader of the five-man gang, Shedrack Etuwe, was arrested in Benin.

The other suspects paraded by the police are Dare Olofinji, Dada Bamidele and Famibe Olayemi, who are said to be involved ion the kidnapping of the daughter late Akure High Chief, Taye David-West.

Taye is one of the twin sisters of the late High Chief, Josiah Olusanya, the Asamo of Akure.

She was reportedly abducted at her residence in Ayedun Quarters area of Akure around 1am a few weeks ago.

However, Oke was abducted along Oba-Ile-Akure road on her way home after the day’s work.

She was later released after spending over 48 hours in kidnappers’ den and was re-united with her family.
