Sex addicts don’t believe in emotional connections. The only thing they want is a person who will help them in fulfilling their urge for sex. They usually tend to remember their sex partners only up till sex.

1. You have secret sex lives

We are not talking about hiding your carrying out normal day to day activity in secrecy. We are talking about cheating your partner and living two or more lives. The different lives could be – a normal life with your partner and the second could be secretly visiting strip clubs or hiding while watching pornography. The point here is, if you have a secret sex life, in spite of being in a relationship, then it’s time to raise the red flag.

2. Compulsive masturbation

Masturbating once or twice a week to get sexual pleasure is good and healthy. But what about masturbating even though you are aware that the act will make you late for school or work? Sex addicts are always preoccupied with the thought of having sex all the time and to overcome this they may frequently masturbate to get pleasure. Compulsive masturbation can happen to a sex addict at any point of time, theaters, workplace or while travelling. As the urge progresses, it may become increasingly destructive and vicious which will ultimately lead to sadism or suicidal ideas.

3. Porn addiction

We don’t mean watching porn with your partner when you try to heighten sexual pleasure. Pornaddiction in sex addicts is a different story altogether. Sex addicts can view pornography right in between of a meeting, just to fulfill their sexual urge. This addiction can interfere drastically in an individual’s personal and professional life.

4. Your relationships only last till the first sexual encounter

Sex addicts don’t believe in emotional connections. The only thing they want is a person who will help them in fulfilling their urge for sex. They usually tend to remember their sex partners only up till sex. And want to get away from their sex partners right after sex.

5. The only thing on your mind, all the time, is sex

Sex addicts have a difficult time focusing on any thing other than sex. This is why habits like porn addiction, excessive masturbation, one night stands and deviant sexual habits set in and become part of everyday life.

6. You want many

You are happily married, your partner supports you, but you always sneak out to others for sex. You are not satisfied with one sex partner, but you want many. In spite of being aware of the problems, you go away and have sex with strangers just to feel happy and pleasurable. This is an alarming part of a sex addicts life.

7. Do not care about the consequences

You see a certain dangerous sex act or position somewhere and you can’t wait to try it out by yourself. Sex addicts don’t care about the outcome of certain sex position. Sex addicts are ready to put their life as well as the life of others in danger to carry out sexual behavior.

8. You are a voyeur 

Sex addicts receive sexual gratification when they see someone naked or witness others participating in sexual behavior. Dr. Vihang says, “Just to see someone naked, sex addicts can go to any point, they can climb pillars. In spite of being aware that their act will get them arrested, they will continue their act of stalking others.”

9. You neglect important tasks

Just to enjoy the pursuit of sex you are ready to neglect your day-to-day important activities. When you are in the flow, you do not care about your job, work or the safety of others.

10. Sex is a source of happiness

Similar to the way alcoholics and drug addicts hold on to their substance abuse, a sex addict uses sex to cope with his or her problems. He feels immense joy after performing a sexual act. A sex addict uses sexual behavior as a weapon to combat pain, distress and agony.
