Praying Papas: Adeboye, Oyedepo, Jonathan, to attend National Fasting and Prayer Day

by Akan Ido

The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners’ Chapel are billed to be in Ibadan, Oyo State for the National Fasting and Prayer Day on September 22.

The one day programme tagged ‘God Save Nigeria’ will also have in attendance President Goodluck Jonathan and the Senate president, David Mark.

One of the organisers of the programme, Prophet Okoduwa Atorkpa of the World Christian Fellowship Foundation (WCFF ) said the title of the programme was inspired the Holy Spirit due to the recent insurgency and tragedies that is plaguing the nation.

He assured that Nigeria will continue to stay united and urged citizens to flee from “all things that are unjust and filthy”.

He dismissed the United States intelligent report to the effect that Nigeria will disintegrate in 2015, noting that the words of God speaks otherwise.

  1. They need to look into Num 22,this is not about wearing phylacteries, the dilution has become so bland, we must never be unequally yoked. We have a fragmented system, the hood does not make the monk. We must have a thorough introspection and turn around, this is not about going to church or having the front seat. Proselytizing is awesome but when not matched with a sincere resolve to change, it becomes fruitless. Nigeria is the most religious nation on earth, yet our leaders are the most corrupt..we are still grappling with this enigma.

  2. Hypocritical men of God in Nigeria have failed to speak for God…they eat and dine with wicked politicians…receive their looted spoils of the peoples blood and enrich themselves in the name of progress…only when they start challenging and resisting their evil as John the baptist did to Herod will there be progress in the polity. May the Holy spirit inspire boldness and integrity, remove the unholy hunger for wealth and fame amongst them and bring his glory to reign in our beautiful land. Amen

  3. They don't need to pray…they simply need to lead by example, look after the poor masses, orphans, defenceless and all citizens. Posterity will judge our leaders and their descendants will suffer for the wickedness of their fathers!

  4. Useless men, goodluck, oyedepo, adeboye, etc, politician and pastors no difference, they are all corrupt.they are the ones destroying our country,FIRS and CIRS(federal/church inland revenue services)evil men
