President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, his first after a 49-day medical vacation.
The meeting started at 10.01am when Buhari arrived the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, venue of the meeting, The Punch reports.
On arrival, the president who was decked in a white agbada requested that the national anthem be recited.
Afterwards he asked the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; and the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, to say the opening prayers.
At the end of the prayers, the meeting went into a closed session.
The President jokingly said, “I have not seen Lai.”
Mohammed, in response, screamed from his seat, “I am here sir!”
In attendance were Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and the majority of the ministers.
Osinbajo had been presiding over the meeting during the time the president was on medical vacation.
