White House press secretary Sean Spice on Tuesday said there would be an announcement “this week” to reveal if there really are taped phone conversations between President Trump and fired former FBI director, James Comey, according to Fox reports.
Speculations if the recorded tapes did exist stemmed from the President’s tweet back in May “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”

Last month, told reporters “I’ll tell you about that maybe sometime in the near future” but made no reference as to if the tapes exist, except saying the press would “be very disappointed” to find out the answer.
The initial purpose of the probe was to investigate Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election and Trump’s campaign possible collusion with the Kremlin now has special counsel Robert Mueller overseeing the investigation.
