President Trump his first 100 days, has beenstruggling to fill hundreds of other administration posts , and the vacancies could pose a mounting challenge as his presidency moves into the next phase.

Trump since he assumed office has been slow in naming people to non-Cabinet posts requiring Senate confirmation. He’s had the fewest nominations and confirmations in his first 100 days than any president in the last 40 years.

According to a nonprofit organization that tracks presidential appointments Partnership for Public Service, there are approximately 556 key administration positions that require presidential appointment and Senate confirmation. 468 of those are missing a full-time replacement.

Trump told the Associated Press, “This is thousands of times bigger, the United States, than the biggest company in the world—the second-largest company in the world is the Defense Department, the third-largest company in the world is Social Security.”. “It’s massive, every agency is, like, bigger than any company—so, you know, I really just see the bigness of it all, but also the responsibility.”

By the 100th day of Barack Obama’s first term, he had 69 positions filled and confirmed. As of day 98, Trump has 24.  Despite the delay for mid-level posts, President  Trump almost has his Cabinet in place.   Alexander Acosta is to be installed as Labor secretary and Robert Lightheizer as trade representative while Sonny Perdue was confirmed Tuesday as Agriculture secretary.
