[The Presidential Blog] Professor Osinbajo hosts another Presidential Quarterly Business Forum

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is presently hosting the 4th Presidential Quarterly Business Forum at the State House in Abuja

The event which forms parts of the multiple approaches being taken by the Office of the Acting President to encourage a stable and diversified economy in Nigeria was launch during the last quarter of 2016 when its first edition held on the 19th of September.

The Acting President went on to host two more on the 23rd of January and the 8th of May respectively.

The Forum usually serves as a platform for Ministers involved in the coordination of financial and economic sectors to interface with one another and the forum in order to ensure meaningful growth in the economy.

It also hosts private sector stakeholders who make presentations in return to the government stakeholders. For example, at the 3rd edition of the event, female developer, Chika Uwazie was able to address the forum on issues relating to the lack of patronage of local software as well as the huge funding gap for start-ups in that field.

At the last edition, the Acting President was clear about his desire to partner with the private sector – especially those in the creative and digital economies in strengthening the economy.
