Protecting his $650 million: Michael Jordan signs SERIOUS pre-nup before his 2nd wedding

When you work your behind off for several years as an NBA star to stockpile hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, the last thing you want to do is give a chunk of it away in a divorce settlement.  Michael Jordan knows this story all too well, after his ex-wife Juanita walked away with an estimated $168 million, making his divorce one of the most expensive in history.

This time, Michael is taking a different approach:  Make her wealthy, but don’t give her everything.  The player has agreed to a prenuptial agreement with his fiance Yvette Prieto, one that seems to make financial sense, at least from Michael’s perspective.

According to sources, Yvette is set to get $1 million per year for every year that the two are married.  If their marriage lasts for 10 years, she gets $50 million.  That’s enough to take care of her and her grandkids, and also enough for Michael to move on without feeling burned.

The couple are set to get married on April 27th.  According to Askmen.com, everyone (male or female) should get a prenup if:

You absolutely have to protect yourself with a pre-nup if:

  • You own major assets such as a home, stocks or retirement funds
  • You may be receiving an inheritance or lottery winnings
  • You have children and/or grandchildren from a previous marriage
  • You own all or part of a business
  • You have a significantly larger amount of assets than your wife-to-be and/or she has substantial debt
  • You are starting out in a potentially lucrative profession such as law or medicine
  • You are likely to achieve great success in your business or career
  • You aren’t sure about your fiancee’s motives
  • You have suffered a previous divorce
