Psychological fantasy movie Sylvia is finally coming to Netflix and it’s long overdue. With the high flux of Nollywood titles coming to the streamer, Sylvia is an exciting addition, a Nollywood psychological romantic fantasy weaving two worlds where Zainab Balogun and Chris Attoh are childhood lovers in a dream state sequence. In the real world, Chris becomes older and finds another woman, jilting Zainab, and this sets her off on an interesting path of revenge.

After making its round in the film festival circuit, Daniel Oriahi’s Sylvia got released in 2018 to positive reviews. Written by Vanessa Kanu and distributed by TRINO Motion Pictures, the movie also stars Ini Dima Okojie, Udoka Oyeka, Lola 1, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Lord Frank, and Bolaji Ogunmola. Sylvia arrives Netflix July 15th.

Court declines Okorocha’s request to probe by EFCC

Senator Rochas Okorocha’s request for an order to stop the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the state probe panel from investigating him on alleged financial infractions, has been struck out by a federal high court sitting in Abuja. Okorocha had requested for a court order ending or suspending EFCC’s investigation against him, including all the petitions submitted to it by the Imo government until the panel on contract set up by the same state government had concluded its probe on his government between 2011 and 2019.

Dr Anu’s trail gets stalled due to judge’s absence 

The trial of controversial cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Anuoluwapo Adepoju, at the Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday, was stalled due to the absence of the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Liman.

Dr Anu who owns Med Contour, was dragged before the court by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission FCCPC over the death of one of her clients, shunning summons by the agency to appear and produce certain documents among other offenses. She appeared before the court for the first time last Friday on a five-count charge.
