The House of Representatives Tuesday at plenary called on Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to swear in two ministerial nominees confirmed by the Senate about two months ago.
The Senate had on May 3, 2017, confirmed Steven Ocheni and Suleiman Hassan as Ministers to represent Kogi and Gombe States respectively in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), but have not been sworn into office due to President Buhari‘s absence.
The decision of the House followed a motion by Sunday Karimi (PDP, Kogi) and two others as a matter of urgent public importance.
There are reports that a “cabal” within the Presidency has prevented the Acting President from fully exercising the powers Buhari transferred to him when he left for his medical vacation in the UK.
