Rio Olympics football team officials finally get share of $390,000 gift

Some officials of the Rio Olympics Nigeria football team have finally gotten their share of the $390,000 donated to them by Japanese surgeon Katsuya Takasu, African Football reports.

It was learnt that each official got $14,000.

Takasu had donated the amount to the team after their impressive performance at the games, despite various challenges they faced.

It was also gathered that the documentation for the cheque in Mikel’s name is expected to be completed this week for the players.

The donation by the surgeon however created some controversies, with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) claiming it should have collected the gift on behalf of the team.
