The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) reared its ugly head on Nigerian Twitter and has caught a lot of flak from tweeps when the organisation’s handle tweeted a statement made by its president concerning “our Japanese money”.

Apparently, the NFF President Pinnick Amaju said the donation made by Japanese doctor, Katsuya Takasu to the Nigerian Dream Team had to “go through a process before it goes directly to the team.”

Wait, what?

The cheques were written in the names of the recipients and Dr Takasu had gotten permission to hand the cheques personally to the people who deserve them. So, please.

Twitter also noticed that something didn’t quite make sense.
