Popular actress Rita Dominic has revealed some details on the latest movie she’s working on.
The movie titled ’76’ centres on the coup d’etat that killed head of state General Murtala Muhammed.
In an interview with BBC Africa Rita said we should always remember that soldiers are human beings just like all of us.
About 76
It is a basically a love story against the backdrop of the Murtala Muhammed assassination, the Head of State in 1976 and the foiled Dimka coup. I played an army wife, her name is Suzy. This film gave me an opportunity to talk to army wives, hear their stories, share their experiences and I am happy I was able to bring to light what they go through.
Time spent on project
We were actually in camp for six months. The first two months helped us bond and bonding with your fellow casts or actors makes for good team chemistry. That really helped.
Relationship with co-actor Ramsey Nouah
Ramsey Nouah is a brilliant actor, a very brilliant one and it is always important that you know that both you and your actor need to be halfway. When you do that, whatever you are giving to your audience is more believable.
Soldiers are human beings
That they are human beings because we tend to forget that these soldiers are also human beings, they have a family, a heart and blood running through them. They are no different from you.
