Hajiya Zainab Idris, the wife of the former Kogi governor, Ibrahim Idris slumped and died today.
The late Hajiya Zainab was said to have slumped and died while performing early morning Islamic prayers.
Her death came as a shock to many as she was said to have been hale and hearty just yesterday. She has, however, been buried according to Islamic rites.

The death was said to have devastated her family members including her husband Idris, the current Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, his wife, Halima and the state’s deputy governor, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi.
Our correspondent also learnt that all planned functions by the governor, his wife and his deputy were all cancelled as a form of respect and mourning for the deceased.
It was also gathered that the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites amidst encomiums and eulogies.
Halima, according to her media consultant, Abubakar Yusuf, described her predecessor’s death as a big loss to the state, the entire nation, and womanhood in general.
She added that the death of Zainab had created a vacuum that will linger for a long time.
It was gathered that condolence register had been opened at the office of the Kogi First Lady for the deceased.
